Here is a running dictation in Spanish I prepared for my Yr10 after my summer holidays of 2014. The idea is to print the word file, cut it in strips and stick it around the room. Print 2 copies for big class. The students work in pairs. You give them a time limit, maybe 1 minute to start with during which one student comes to the piece of text to read and try to remember what he/she can. Then he/she goes back to write down what he/she can remember whilst the other person goes to read and try to remember more. They keep swapping around. Once you think they are more or less done, you can correct with the PowerPoint presentation. I get my students to underline/tick every word they get right and write what they are missing in a different colour. After that, there are some comprehension questions about the holidays followed by some creative writing on what happened next. I have also included what really happened next to compare with what they come up with. Enjoy and please feedback! :-)
Two way translation about myself and family. To be printed double sided. Good practice for writing exam. Would suit Yr9/Yr10/Yr11 Enjoy and don't forget to feedback! :-)

Here is a homework task I have tried with my Year 10 to help them with their listening, spelling and sentences structure. I sent them the listening file by email and asked them for homework to transcribe what they could hear (10 sentences). When they came to class the following week, we corrected it together and I gave them a copy of the sentences for them to translate and then adapt to make their own. It worked really well and I shall prepare more like this! Enjoy and don't forget to feedback! :-)
